BENEFITING: Episcopal Community Services, Inc.
This year, as I celebrate my 34th birthday and my new job, I am asking everyone to donate to Episcopal Community Services in Kansas City BEFORE AUGUST 10. This great organization provides food to those in need through the greater Kansas City Metro area, which is both Kansas and Missouri for those of you who may be confused.
The money raised by this campaign will be the jumpstart to re-establishing the Culinary Cornerstones Training Program (CCTP), a 12-week vocational training program that provides the basic skills for careers in the food service industry for the unemployed and underemployed. This is a FREE program to those who qualify. Their curriculum is modeled after that of Catalyst Kitchens, a membership-based collaborative network of organizations, using national best practices for its vocational training integrating community kitchens and food-related social enterprises. ECS has been accepted as a Rising Star Member of Catalyst Kitchens and are the first, and currently only, member of Catalyst Kitchens in Kansas City, Missouri.
