Beautify Bayshore's Waters
Organized by: Beautify Bayshore
We are the 'Trashy Pirates' a group of environmental enthusiasts in Tampa, Florida dedicated to cleaning the waters of Hillsborough Bay and the Hillsborough Watershed. Our mission is to keep our waterways clean and preserved for wildlife, future generations of Floridians, and visitors alike. We can all agree it is truly terrible to see dolphins, rays, sharks, seabirds, fish, and crabs entangled in floating or underwater trash. We are doing something about it! We have officially adopted the shoreline along Bayshore Blvd from downtown Tampa to Ballast Point and we are not afraid to get wet! Our cleanups are boat and kayak based and you can frequently see our boats cleaning the shoreline along Bayshore Blvd. in Tampa, Florida. We organize 4-5 large 2 - 3 boat cleanup projects per year (10 volunteers per boat) and multiple smaller single boat or kayak projects. Each 10 volunteer boat costs us approximately $150 for boat rental, gas, and supplies for a half day cleanup or approximately $15 per volunteer. Our yearly costs are approximately $2250 for 5 cleanup projects. We would like to expand but must have the community support to do so. The more funds we raise the more cleanups we will be able to schedule and the more coastline we can clean so PLEASE DONATE! Please visit us on facebook or visit our website http://beautifybaysore.wix.com/BBWTP for more information regarding our cleanup projects.
