I want to dedicated my Tough Mudder 2016 run to my Dad. My charity of choice is Vibha, A brighter future for children. I set a goal to raise $1,000. Appreciate your donation and supporting my cause. Read below to learn more on why I am dedicating this to my Dad and why Vibha?
Last year I was doing my one year fitness and nutrition program with Precision Nutrition. The program changed my life and I highly recommend it for some one who is looking to change their health or life in general. I missed the opportunity to do Tough Mudder in 2015 so as soon as they opened registration for 2016, I signed up.
My race is on October 1st, 2016 and for the past 11 months I was debating should even do the race. One day it was a Yes and another day it was a No. After much deliberation, I decided to do the race regardless the results.
This year my Dad health has been on a roller coaster; brain tumor, hemorrhage, and finally hydrocephalus. The good news is he is not in coma and has signs and hope for a good recovery. My dad is a self made successful business man even though, for several reasons, he was not able to complete high-school and attend college.
He made this journey through hard work and determination but one thing he realized was the importance of education. Therefore my dad ensure that both me and my brother got the best education. One of the values I took away from my dad was to help others. My dad not only supported us for education but he also sponsored several kids through out these years for their education.
Vibha is one such organization that has same values as my Dad. Vibha is a non-profit organization with a vision is to ensure that every underprivileged child attains his or her right to education, health and opportunity. I have worked with folks at Vibha on several occasions but not able to commit much time for volunteering as I would like to. Tough Mudder provided a great opportunity for me to support Vibha and also follow the values of my Dad.
Thanks for taking the time to read my short story and appreciate your donation !
