Becca Goes on a Run (for a cause)
Organized by: Becca Bunch
In April I will be going to Pyongyang to run a 10k. It is not only an amazing opportunity to run there but it is also a chance to impact the lives of orphaned and blind children.
Here is a comment from the organization who has arranged this race with a higher purpose in mind:
Traveling (and running!) with Koryo Tours means supporting our humanitarian work and cultural engagement projects. Last year 280 runners helped us deliver nutritional food packages to eight orphanages and a school for the blind in North Korea. Koryo Tours founder Nick Bonner, personally accompanied one of the deliveries in 2015 and said: "Many thanks to all of you who ran the marathon and therefore sponsored our humanitarian work. Koryo Tours is committed to looking after these children and we are providing nutritional deliveries three times a year. No money is exchanged we simply order the best nutritional product, get it shipped to North Korea and visit the orphanages to monitor the arrival of the goods and the wellbeing of the children."
As part of this trip I would love to fundraise $3,000! If this is something you would like to help me fundraise for, I would be honored if you would join me in this effort to help children in North Korea!
