BENEFITING: The ALS Association St. Louis Regional Chapter
EVENT: Kimmswick 5K
EVENT DATE: Aug 17, 2013
I'm running to help raise funds for the Nancy Ratliff Medical Fund and The ALS Association. ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is a motor neuron disease, first described in 1869 by the noted French neurologist Jean-Martin Charcot. It is a neurodegenerative disease that usually attacks both upper and lower motor neurons and causes degeneration throughout the brain and spinal cord. It is a horrific disease.
My sweet, sweet grandma DeHart died of ALS in 1994 and I plan to run this race in her memory.
DONATION INFO: Checks are accepted if you are not comfortable using your debit card online. Mail a check payable to The ALS Association, c/o Angela Rickard, 2258 Weldon Parkway, St. Louis, MO 63146. The memo field should say "Kimmswick 5K Donation-Becky Cutright."
