Beeharry Family Fire Fund
Organized by: Naftali YD
Hi, My name's Naftali. My family friends, Krish and his wife, Roxanna have fallen on hard times this winter. They are a couple in their forties, and they have worked in my father’s transportation company for many years. On December 5, 2015, they threw a party at their home in Jamaica, New York when a fire started in the house next door, which spread to their house and destroyed it. They are grateful that no one was seriously hurt, but they have lost many possessions and their family of eight is now scattered across Queens, New York. It’s hard losing your home, but being separated from your family during this season of joy must be harder, and they’re managing as best as they can.
They have fire insurance, but they can’t afford to pay rent on an apartment while they wait for their house to be rebuilt. Almost everything they own has been destroyed in this fire. Clothing, furniture, a computer, and almost everything else but the clothes on their backs and whatever they could carry in their pockets. Roxanne’s mother, a woman in her seventies, lived with them along with their two adorable kids, Sean (11 years old) and Kristopher (6 years old). They need money to replace some of what they lost and to rent a new apartment while their house is being rebuilt.
I’ve known Krish for a long time and have recently met Roxanne when I worked with her briefly. They have a beautiful family and are hardworking, good, decent people. Krish told my father that instead of having a white Christmas season this year, he’s having a black Christmas.
So on this holiday season, please bring this wholesome, American family together. Turn on the lights for them, and make their Christmas white and joyful again with your generous donation. Anything at all will be greatly appreciated to alleviate their financial burdens.
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful year.
