When I was 12 years old, my siblings and I watched the house across the street from us burn to ash. It was a traumatizing experience because we were unable to help besides calling 911. Seven people die in home fires each day, usually due to lack of a working smoke alarm. Consequently, the elderly and children are at a disadvantage and have a higher chance of losing their lives in these situations. It's important that we come together as a community and ensure all families have working fire alarms and detectors. Join me and make a donation or volunteer and help with the installation initiatives.
