A few friends and I are participating this upcoming Saturday, October 27th, in the San Jose Dirty Girl Mud Run as team, “Bees in the Trap!” This event is designed to empower women through camaraderie, fun and shared challenges. A portion of the proceeds of this event go to help the Breast Cancer Foundation.
Although this event is primarily designed as a fun and challenging muddy experience for women, we decided to give it a greater purpose and use it as an opportunity to empower women around the world!
CARE, a global humanitarian organization helping the most vulnerable communities around the world is an expert at empowering women! For over 50 years, CARE has empowered women by giving them the tools necessary to survive and thrive in some of the most impoverished countries around the world, including my beloved Guatemala! I discovered CARE my senior year of college through a class project and immediately fell in love with their purpose and mission, and have been an active supporter ever since.
So today I encourage you to give maybe just a little bit (although I wouldn't oppose to a LOT! lol) to help a cause I believe truly does make a difference. Not only in the poorest countries, but anywhere in the world, women are the back and bone of entire families, and go through tremendous struggles to protect, sustain and care for their loved ones; so why not give them a little help!
In return, you’ll get first access to exclusive pictures of our event while all covered in mud! Oh yeah!!!
