Beethoven's Leg Surgery
Organized by: Alexandra Villar
I rescued Beethoven from a shelter when he was only 5 months old. He was a young spunky, and charismatic pup. As the years went by he began acting differently. He slowed down and began to stretch his legs an excessive amount throughout the day. Later, he would begin to cry when someone would get too near his hind legs and began to be overprotective. We took him to the veterinary and they told us he was in a lot of pain from what was luxating patellas in both his hind legs. That meant that his patellas, or kneecaps, were luxating, or out of place. They pop in and out of the socket they should be staying in but if he doesn't receive surgery soon, worse damage can be done. His luxating patellas will not be able to pop back into its socket and can tear cruciate ligaments as well as induce arthritic changes resulting in pain and less mobility. With your help I can afford to pay for Beethoven's surgery to help repair the damage in his legs and bring the spunk back in my doggy. Any amount will be a huge amount of help. Thank you!
