BENEFITING: THE BELL CENTER FOR EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAMS
EVENT DATE: Feb 12, 2012
Mileage Tracker: 180
Thank you for visiting my Bell Runner web site! As a Bell Runner, I am privileged to be partnered with Scottlynn Alee, an almost 2 year old with an amazing spirit. As a Bell Runner, I will raise support for the Bell Center in Birmingham, Alabama. The Bell Center is a tremendous place that offers support for children who are at risk for developmental delay from birth to 3 years of age. It is a place where children with special needs and their parents are empowered and supported.
Scottlynn (blonde girl in the picture) has greatly benefited from the Bell Center. From the assistance she receives from her physical and occupational therapists, she is already walking. If it were not for the Bell Center, she and her family would not have the support and services that allow them to tackle each challenge set before them.
I am also embarking on this endeavor in honor of my beautiful niece, Evelyn. When Evelyn was born, she was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder known as Aicardi Syndrome. As I have watched Evelyn grow into the beautiful 4 year old she is today - I have witnessed a little girl who meets life's challenges with such grace and strength.
I have been inspired by Evelyn and her family - seeing how they all meet and overcome daily challenges. In an effort to stand with all families that face these similar extraordinary challenges, I have committed to run in the Mercedes Marathon as a Bell Runner.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support - and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Click the orange "Donate" button at the right hand side of the screen to donate.
