EVENT DATE: Apr 13, 2012
My parents, Ben and Jan, both 85yo, have been married 66 years this April.
They are both still very active in their community and church. Dad, a 26yr Army Vet, walks 4 miles a day, bowls once a week, put together the hometown Veterens Memorial and helped 3 others get started and continues to organize their towns 4th of July and Veterens Day Celebration, Mom has been an operator at the city hospital for 26 yrs until recent when they forced her to retire due to automation. She didn't know what to do with herself so now volunteers as a Cherry Red at the same place. They have been amazing parents to me andmy 2 sisters and our kids and grandkids... our greatest blessing every day! A trip to see the places they lived during WW II and the Holy Land is on their bucket list and it would be so awesome to make a first class guided tour happen for their 66th Anniversary and while they are both able to do it. A friend I grew up with organizes and leads such tours for active seniors and has agreed to document their adventure, be their personal assistant and insider tour guide. My siblings and I would kick it to cover but some their is economic concern which makes us hesitant . Our folks are fearless together and despite the unrest in the region, would be able to enjoy every historic, spiritual and political sight, food and hospitable people. They may be 85 but live to lifes fullest.
Thanks in advance for whatever you can do to help!
