Benches for Good Shepherd Church Plaza
Organized by: Dalton Lasell
PLEASE NOTE: At this time, (Monday, June 30, 2014, 5:00 p.m.) NO benches remain available for the option to memorialize a loved one. However, please email Dalton if you are still interested so that you can be notified if anything changes and a bench becomes available. Donations are still being accepted to offset project costs. If you are interested in making a donation to support the project, please click the orange button at right. Any funds donated going forward will support the project in general.
My objective in planning my Eagle project is to give back to my community. Good Shepherd Church enjoys a relatively new church building, constructed in 2010. The grounds continue to be developed with features that improve the setting -- either for practical purposes or aesthetic purposes. I plan to install 6 new benches, which will serve both practical and aesthetic needs.
The slate benches for this project were selected by the pastor and staff. All agree, the addition of the benches will be a nice asset to the plaza entry area. People will be able to take a seat if they are waiting for others, or waiting for services or events to begin, or simply enjoying the setting.
Each bench is roughly $200.
Volunteers will assist in the proper installation of the benches. Rebar and cement footings will secure the benches at selected locations around the perimeter of the plaza.
I appreciate donations of any amount toward this project. Your generosity supports a nice addition to Good Shepherd Church. Any funds raised over and above my goal will be used to further improve the grounds. Additionally, I am grateful that the work done on this project helps me as I work to achieve my Eagle Scout Rank for Boy Scout Troop #59, Elk Grove.
I appreciate your consideration.
