BENEFITING: One Love Foundation in honor of Yeardley Love
EVENT DATE: Oct 15, 2016
1 in 3 women, and 1 in 4 men, have experienced, experience now, or will one day experience, relationship violence in their lifetime.
You know them. They are your family, your friends. The stranger sitting on the curb of the street. The customer having a hard day. They often feel trapped, and many times do not even recognize the severity of their situation, or that it's even possible to escape it.
The One Love Foundation was founded in 2010 in honor of Yeardley Love, a senior student at the University of Virginia who was beaten to death by her ex-boyfriend. The foundation has the goal of "bringing an end to Relationship Violence by educating, empowering and activating campus communities in a movement for change."
My name is Benjamin. I've known many people close to me that have had to experience relationship violence, and my heart breaks to think of what they've had to endure. I will be running the Baltimore Half Marathon on Oct 15, 2016 to honor them and further this important cause. All of the proceeds I raise will go to the One Love Foundation, and contribute to the Foundation's efforts to end relationship violence, to trigger change in campuses in youth communities across America. Donations will be delivered to the Foundation no later than December 1, 2016.
Please consider contributing. Your small donation could mean a world of change in the life and relationships of men and women everywhere.
