Help us score a Perfect 10 and launch the Health E3: Eat, Exercise, Explore! Program
You can help Benjamin's Hope support people with disabilities in living healthy lives by making a donation here.
Why is this program needed?
The President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition reports that 1 in 4 Americans with disabilities are physically inactive during a given week, compared with only 1 in 8 Americans without a disability. The Centers for Disease Control cites lack of access to physical activity options as one of the main barriers to a healthy lifestyle for persons with disabilities.
What will this program provide?
Benjamin's Hope wants to improve the lives of people with disabilities in West Michigan through the new Health E3: Eat, Exercise, Explore! program. Through this program, adults and children with disabilities and their families will have access to:
- adaptive exercise equipment
- nature trails
- snow shoes and other outdoor recreation equipment
- gardening classes
- barrier-free garden plots
- nutrition and healthy cooking workshops
