Getting really real....

BENEFITING: ARKANSAS CHILDRENS HOSPITAL
EVENT DATE: Oct 15, 2016
About a year ago I decided to try and lose some weight and get a bit more active. I started out walking on a treadmill and over several painful, sweary and sweaty months got to the point that I could run a 5k without stopping. With the help and encouragement of Libby and several friends I ended up running several 10ks and an eight mile race last year too. A glutton for punishment true - but also a big fan of post race donuts. I am currently in a training program for the bentonville half marathon that runs early April and Libby was "kind" enough to sign me up for the full 26.2 in Kansas City on October 15th. Training for a full marathon is, by all accounts, not an easy task but I'm excited to take on the challenge. Even if I'm pushing a stroller/buggy for many training runs! I hope you will consider sponsoring my run. Arkansas Childrens Hospital needs donations to establish a campus in northwest Arkansas. I volunteer for a pro bono program at work and we heard a harrowing story of a local lady who had to drive her sick child 3 hours each way from here to Little Rock several times a month for treatment. The northwest Arkansas campus is really necessary and as someone about to be a dad for the first time this fundraiser seemed like a perfect idea. Any amount would help - .50 a mile is $13 or a $1 a mile is $26. This website has the lowest fees I could find of 3% and I will pay that on top of whatever is raised so you know every penny of your donation is going to this great cause. Thanks BP
