Hemp Farming is environmentally beneficial. For farmers, it is profitable. For the economy, it could bring jobs to hard hit communities. The United States is the only developed nation that does not allow farming this crop, which means that American companies and consumers must import hemp products from Canada, China, and all over Europe. Hemp is a non-drug agricultural crop, that is used in a number of consumer products from nutritional food products to clothing to biodegradable plastics, bio-composite materials, building materials, and potentially many more. Only when we can grow hemp, will we be able to develop this industry.
