Ben's Lighthouse is grateful for the 4 teams, 48 runners in total, that are heading to Cape Cod in May to run the Ragnar Team Relay for Ben. These runners are helping us to shine light on our organization, while raising funds to support our programming -- ensuring that we are always able to provide opportunities and events free of charge to anyone who wants to participate.
Ragnar is an overnight running team relay race covering 200 miles along Cape Cod from Hull to Provincetown. Team members each run 3 times, with each leg ranging between 3-8 miles and varying in difficulty.

Our Mission and Impact:
Ben’s Lighthouse establishes programs that empower young people to develop the self-awareness, empathy and social connections they need to find and share their own light.
In 2015 alone, we positively impacted the lives of over 200 children in the Newtown, CT area through our programs, mentoring activities and volunteer experiences. The high schoolers who have participated in our outreach trips to Oklahoma and Colorado have been profoundly changed by the work experience, the camaraderie, and the interactions with people who have suffered deep personal loss in those communities.
Our programs are named for six-year old lighthouse-enthusiast Ben Wheeler, who lost his life at Sandy Hook Elementary School on 12/14. Ben’s Lighthouse is named as a way to remember Ben, but also to honor the “light” of all innocents lost on that day.
Our light shines in the Newtown community and in the communities we visit. Help us continue to keep that light shining bright.
Our Fundraising Goal
2016 marks the first year of the Ben’s Lighthouse Ragnar Relay Challenge. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to support our programs for Newtown’s children and youth. Help us by pledging your support now -- let's light up the Cape together!
