Bernie has been through a lot already. He handled hip surgery and rehab. He learned how to trust people and gained weight. He has become a fun loving dog and him and Norman playing in the yard is so amazing to see. I truly hope this is one last hurdle for him. At least 12 but more likely 17 teeth need to come out. They are so worn, damaged and broken that it's the only way to give him relief. We saw a DAVDC (Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College) today to look at all our options. The plan is to extract his diseased teeth and clean what remains. As you can imagine the estimate is high(see copy in comments) but there is no way we could not do it. Bernie deserves a life without constant pain.
