BENEFITING: UNITED WAY OF GENESEE COUNTY
Berston Field House in Flint is one of the most historic recreational facilities in Genesee County. Built in 1923, it's one of the first to be fully integrated in the region. Back then, it served as a "Beacon of Hope", and while talented athletes have still come out of the facility in recent years, its grounds aren't what they once were. But, some organizations want to change that. NBC 25/Fox 66, KaBOOM!, United Way of Genesee County along with Make An Impact Foundation have joined forces to build a state of the art playground at the historic Berston Field House in Flint.
Play is an important aspect of a child’s development and can be a part of the solution to many of the current challenges facing kids in Flint. This project will allow the community to come together to plan something positive for kids and this community.
This KaBOOM! playground build in Flint is the signature project of Make An Impact Foundation’s “Make An Impact” week in September. The week will have a variety of service activities aimed to create a positive change within the community.
