The first time I tried stand-up paddleboarding was a few days before the innaugral Paddle For Plummer in 2014. I loved every part of it: being awkward on the board while figuring out how to stand up, how to move, how to turn and how to get down off the board. It's similar to what we all go through in life with big changes and new experiences. In a way, this is similar to what the kids who come through the Plummer Home go through; except what they deal with goes much deeper and is much more intense. But thanks to a place like the Plummer Home, they have a safe space to grow in.
Which is why I am back, once again, for the third straight year to support the Plummer Home. So I am, once again, asking for your support in donating to this fantastic Salem institution.
The Plummer Home, which has been an important part of Salem since 1855, serves kids who have been bouncing around foster care for most of their lives. Their childhoods have been full of upheaval, uncertainty and instability. They need safety, stability and families that will be theirs forever. Plummer Home helps them find that.
Paddle for Plummer will take place on Saturday July 16, 2016 in Salem, MA at Winter Island. I'm asking for your support in donating to The Plummer Home. I encourage you to look at their website to learn about the Plummer Home: http://www.plummerhome.org/index.php
