For the last two years, I've been working for an amazing organization, The Alliance to End Homelessness in Suburban Cook County. This year we have a matching grant opportunity that triples every new donation. So that means if you donate $100 the Alliance will receive $300!
The Community Memorial Foundation (http://www.cmfdn.org/) is providing this matching grant and their mission is to "measurably improve the health of people who live and work in the western suburbs of Chicago".
Since their mission and my personal goals aligned, I wanted to take this opportunity to show my appreciation to the Alliance by using the half marathon as a fundraiser to support our work to end Veteran and long-term homelessness in suburban Cook County by the end of this year.
In addition to the challenge grant, I will personally match the first person who donates $100 so that means for the first person who donates $100 their donation will turn into $400!
