Bethel Church Building Fund
Organized by: Regina Ochoa
Our little Bethel Church of Whitney, NE first opened its arms to the rural community in 1893. We are trying to bring our old community gathering place back to the condition it deserves to be. A few years ago the building got a brand new foundation and new paint and storm windows were purchased. Now it is time to finish what was started. The old siding does not hold paint anymore. It has been painted several times in recent years so now the plan is to put new siding on it, finishing the windows and doing some interior work. It will be kept as historically correct as possible. Through Bethel's doors passed assorted ministers, teachers, parents and Sunday school children. She has witnessed funerals and weddings, registered voting and quilting bees. Holidays turned her into a theater for the children's school programs and Christmas parties. Please help us open Bethel's doors and windows to the future generations and friends of rural Nebraska.
