I am raising money for a missions trip to Thailand. While in Thailand I will be working with Urban Light, and amazing organization empowering boys who have been involved in trafficking in the city of Chiang Mai. This is an issue that is often overlooked and one that is really close to my heart. After photographing many events for Not For Sale Georgia I have learned so many things about the dark and terrible world of sex trafficking world wide. I am inspired by Alezandra and her team at Urban Light and would like to donate my photography services to them for several weeks so that they can spread the word to even more people, creating a global conversation. I also hope to teach the boys some photography skills and donate some equiptment to the center. Please help me reach my goal!
Urban Light is not just a name it's a movement—a movement dedicated to restoring, rebuilding and empowering the lives of boys who are so often forgotten within the dialogue of abuse, exploitation and trafficking. UrbanLight is committed to disrupting the complacency that has taken over an entire global community of onlookers and social service providers.
The Urban Light Youth Center (ULYC) is located just a few blocks from Chiang Mai's Red Light District. The Center is a place where boy's, ages 14-24, can seek shelter and refuge from the many harsh realities that life on the street offers. Urban Light is made-up of a team that works 24-hours a day to empower our boys with to live healthy, happy and safe lives by providing immediate assistance surrounding education, health services, housing and emergency care.
