The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad was founded nearly 75 years ago – and since our inception, the organization has provided unparalleled emergency medical and fire/rescue services without receiving any direct financial support from tax revenues or other government revenues. So, what do we need contributions for? Why are we asking now? Here's a short list of things we desperately need:
- $69,000 to complete funding of an ambulance;
- $2,940 for a smoke generator;
- $2,500 for fire helmets;
- $3,500 for rescue dummy;
- $6,000 for structural personal protective gear this year;
- $50,000 for AED replacements;
- $80,000 for structural personal protective gear replacements in the mid-term.
Through college, law school, and my career, the Rescue Squad has been a constant – allowing me to become an emergency medical technician, firefighter, and now the first female President. Most importantly, however, the organization has allowed me to serve my community – a privilege that few are provided. Without contributions, the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad would simply not be what it is today – an organization that stands alone in setting the standard for fire, rescue, and EMS services. Your donation will allow us to provide the highest level of care when responding to emergency calls. The organization requires substantial funds to achieve its vision – both from an operations and maintenance and capital perspective. With this in mind, I urge you to help us reach our goals and continue our mission of providing emergency medical and fire/rescue services.
The Rescue Squad does not receive direct tax support from local, state, or federal sources and our organization does not charge for our services. We rely upon donations to fulfill our mission. We would like to thank you for your continued support and remind you that all contributions to the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad are tax-exempt.
So, please, please consider giving.
