My experience is one that is probably familiar to many of you. I watched my mom and my sister brave the scary challenges that come with a breast cancer diagnosis. I know that the work that others have done to bring awareness to this disease and the research advances that have given us so much information about breast cancer, helped save Mom and Jo's lives.
The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund supports both new and established research investigating the causes, prevention and treatment of breast cancer. This research will include- but not be limited to- studies of the genetic, molecular, cellular and environmental factors involved in the development and progression of the breast cancer; application of the knowledge thus gained to educate medical professionals and increase public awareness for the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer; and studies of the outcomes of breast cancer detection and treatment on the patient, their families and society.
I feel strongly about supporting this mission and will do so while training for and running the NYC marathon this fall. Please join in the "Team Baldwin" mission knowing that "Together we can find a cure".
