Hi everyone. As many of you know, I'm running the Atlantic City Half Marathon on October 21, 2012. This will be my third half marathon.
I'm running to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, an organization that I have been supporting for several years. Your support, through donations to my crowdrise fundraising fund, can help JDRF with its mission. I'm hoping to raise $150.
JDRF is the largest charitable supporter of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) research, working to find a cure and to improve the lives of those living with this disease. Type 1 is an autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin, the hormone that helps use food for energy and regulates blood glucose. While other forms of diabetes can frequently be controlled by lifestyle changes, Type 1 strikes suddenly, requiring insulin injections several times a day, and, as yet, has no cure. Every contributions is progress toward finding a cure.
Thanks for your support!
