BENEFITING: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
EVENT DATE: Oct 10, 2010
David Garrison is the son of our family friend who was first diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2003 - a slow growing, indolent cancer of the lymphatic system, which is part of the immune system. Long story short, it's been on and off good/ bad the last 7 years. Please read more about him here:
David is now undergoing some very aggressive treatments that I don't quite fully understand. What I do understand is extremely risky, agonizing and running a marathon is nothing remotely close to what David has been fighting through, and currently still is. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy, also is scheduled to have a bone marrow transplant just days after the Chicago marathon.
I love this quote taken from David's blog: "Despite the tears, absolute raw fear in acknowledging one's own mortality, we have still been able to find moments of solace and laughter".
I and the Garrison family all appreciate any donations!
