Better quality of life
Organized by: Tanya Lick
Hi, my name is Tanya, I was born in 1975 with Bilateral clubfeet. I have had 16 surgeries on left foot and 28 on right foot. Last July was my 28th surgery, right foot triple orthodesis (fusion), it was my 4th fusion. On June 28th, I will be meeting with my surgeon to get the referral to meet with the surgical team at U of M, to discuss amputation. Myself as well as my primary and orthopedic Dr believe it's my only option left to keep me going and out of a wheelchair. Unfortunately, I need a little help. My husband got ill at age 39 and is disabled fof life, therefore our income is limited. I have thought long and hard about this, but I have not had much of a normal quality of life when it comes to walking. In the meantime medicare will pay 80% of the cost of a power chair to make it easier for me to get around for now, and will not pay for the type of ramp I need to get down my steps. If anyone at all could help me, I will be forever great full. Never giving up!!!
