At sisterhood, we believe we are better together - that is how we serve our community, together. Alone we can do a little, but together we can change the world.
Last year at Sisterhood we rallied around the dream of a young Haitian girl named Francia. An orphan girl, whose mother and father tragically passed away years earlier, Francia found amazing love in an organization we partner with called Danita’s children. As a sisterhood, we saved our change to change her destiny – we sent Francia to ORU! Her dream is being realized today because of what we and others did to raise the funds she so desperately needed.
Then at the beginning of 2015, we collected close to 400 handbags to raise awareness and help stop domestic violence in Texas. The handbags were given to Texas Advocacy Project so children in shelters across Texas could give a gift to their mom’s on Mother’s Day. Inside each handbag are action steps to get safe in the event of domestic violence.
As we enter into this new season, we are going to serve the children in our community - children who desperately need help. Children who receive services from Center for Child Protection, Manos de Cristo, Launch Pad, Parmer Drug Abuse Program and Caleb Club Poland. What a blessing to get to touch the lives of these kids in our own community and across the seas in Czestochowa, Poland.
It’s with this in mind, that I invite you to join my team, Better Together, to help raise funds and awareness for what we do through the Caleb 5K run and the Caleb Foundation.
