Beyond Type 1 is a new brand of philanthropy leveraging the power of social media and technology, changing what it means to live with a chronic disease. By educating the global community about this autoimmune disease, as well as providing resources and support for those living with Type 1, we will bridge the gap from diagnosis to cure, empowering people to both live well today and funding a better tomorrow. We are here to disrupt diabetes.

Thank you for visiting my page! Every donation makes a difference, whether it be big or small. For those of you who may not know, here is my type 1 story:
When I was six years old, my mother knew something wasn't right with me. After weeks of serious weight loss, fequently going to the bathroom (and even one bed wetting!), and a tiredness that took over my whole body, she took me to the doctor. Little did I know that a few hours later, I would end up in the emergency room of Children's Hospital being told I was diabetic. I saw my mom cry as my young mind tried to understand what was happening. Was I going to die? That was the first question I asked. After a little bit of Diabetes 101, and a whole lot of love from my family, friends, and the doctors and nurses that took care of me, I was a first grade carb-counting finger-pricking pro. The only problem was that I soon realized I was the only one of my kind at my school. No other kids were getting daily shots or counting carbohydrates. No kid even knew what a carbohydrate (or diabetes for that matter) was.
Luckily, with organizations like Beyond Type 1, people are becoming more and more familiar with type 1 diabetes. And with amount of medical breakthoughs in diabetic technology, the cure is near. I'm asking you to donate, simply so that one day, children will never have to feel alone. They will never have to experience a high or a low bloodsugar. And one day, if I'm lucky enough, maybe I will no longer have to experience them either.
Thank you so much!
