I have decided to run the City of Oaks 10K while pushing Cam in a jogging stroller in order to raise money and awareness for the Frankie Lemmon School.  Now that Cam is 8 months old and more than 20 pounds this will be a challenge for sure, but I am so glad to be doing it for a great cause!  Please help me to reach my fundraising goal of $2,481!  Below is more information on the Frankie Lemmon School and what great work they do for special needs children.  Thanks for all of your support!  Best, Kathleen Warren

When three-year-old Jessica came to Frankie Lemmon, she had not yet spoken her first word and all her mother wanted was to hear her daughter speak. By the end of Jessica’s first year at Frankie Lemmon, she was able to say a few words. By the end of the second year she could form short sentences. By the end of the third year, Jessica’s mother could not stop her from talking and singing all day long!

For nearly fifty years, Frankie Lemmon School has changed the lives of children like Jessica by providing a tuition-free, superior education for children with special needs. Unfortunately, demand for Frankie Lemmon services far exceeds the current capacity, and the Pre-K special needs population in Wake County is fastest growing in the state!

Frankie Lemmon is working to address this need. They have increased enrollment by 40 students in only 2 years and they have plans to continue expanding services and will eventually serve 150 or more children and their families every year. Achieving this goal will require a dramatic increase in financial support. That’s why I’m contacting you, because I’m helping to give these children the life changing education and therapies they need and deserve through Frankie Lemmon’s Bright Futures Campaign.

I am serving on the Bright Futures Campaign Committee. This annual campaign is led by volunteers to increase support from across the community so that the school can continue expanding enrollment. I am asking for you to please join me in supporting the 2014/15 Bright Futures Campaign.
