BENEFITING: Island Alliance, Inc.
The Boston Harbor Islands National Park area is the largest open space in the Boston Metro Area. Its 34 islands and peninsulas afford visitors diverse, year-round opportunities for recreation and relaxation ranging from fishing to hiking, paddling to cycling, birdwatching, history, and hundreds of public events. As the designated non-profit parter of the Boston Harbor Islands National Park, the Boston Harbor Island Alliance works to provide free public access to the park via our Access Initiative. Each year, through private and corporate funding we provide free ferry transportation and fun, educational public events to over 16,000 deserving families throughout Boston and eastern Massachusetts.
In spring of 2014 we hope to expand this program and provide free park access to over 1,000 U.S. Military Veterans and their immediate family members. Help us honor our local heroes and give them the opportunity to explore and enjoy this amazing National Park in their backyard.
Each contribution of just $15 helps us provide park access and programs to one local hero.
Unlike other access programs that require participation at a certain date or time or have specific "blackout dates", our direct partnership with the National Park Service and the official water transportation provider to the islands enables our staff to find the preferred date/time for each ticket recipient.
