BENEFITING: Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia
Better bicycling improves our region's health and economy, makes our transportation cheaper and more sustainable, and lifts our spirits because bicycling is fun! Since 1972, we have been improving the quality of life in the Greater Philadelphia Region by making it a better place to ride a bike. Donations fund a nationally-reputable, passionate, organized, and knowledgeable non-profit advocate for bicycling. Membership drives our ability to: Complete the Schuylkill River Trail; Transform Philadelphia and suburban streets into safe, attractive spaces for biking and walking; Equip our schools to teach our children how to bike and walk to school safely; Give bicycling a seat at the table with regional policymakers. Our members and donors have helped us win great victories for bicycling, such as: Convincing SEPTA to make its buses, trains, and subways bicycle-friendly; Helping obtain $20 million to fund local trails; Lobbying to keep the Ben Franklin Bridge bicycle-accessible. Reaching 70,000 people through our education programs in the past 3 years.
