BENEFITING: LOS ANGELES FIRE DEPARTMENT FOUNDATION
Whether for a large concert, a summer day on Venice Beach, or an event like the LA Marathon, large crowds of people often gather in Los Angeles. With so many Angelenos together in one place, the chances of a life-threatening emergency are high. Luckily, the LAFD’s Bike Medic Team is there to help. Riding special bicycles equipped with medical gear, these pairs of LAFD paramedics are on patrol, administering aid and saving lives in the crowd. They bridge the gap between foot patrols and rescue ambulances, functioning as a nimble, rapid-response medical unit to care for victims until more help arrives. The team is currently 60 members strong; it’s serving Los Angels better than ever. But there’s a problem: The City’s budget doesn’t provide funds for all the gear it requires. It needs more bicycles and cycling gloves to outfit everyone on the team. But you can help. The Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation[LINK] is raising [$AMOUNT] for the team to provide all its members with bikes and gloves. By donating, you’ll ensure the LAFD Bike Medic Team is better equipped to provide emergency care to everyone in the crowd. Can we count on your donation today?
