Dear Family and Friends,
I am so excited to share with you that I will once again be running in the 2017 Boston Marathon for Team BIDMC (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center)! Last year’s marathon experience was so inspirational for me--watching all the runners, hearing the kind words and support from the crowd and crossing the finish line was an exhilarating experience that I will never forget. Words can’t even begin to describe how I felt on that day and so I am proud to be running for my Dad once again and supporting the BIDMC annual fund in his honor. 2016 was a big year for our family as my Dad celebrated his 80th birthday. This is a huge milestone considering all the health issues he has experienced over the years. I attribute this to the incredible care he has received over the last 29 years after he suffered his first heart attack. Our family has a strong history of heart disease so he was referred to BIDMC for treatment. I am so lucky to still have him in my life and feel this is my opportunity to give back to the hospital and other families like mine. We are so fortunate to have such an amazing hospital so close to us. With the incredible advancement in testing and treatment over the years, fundraising efforts are more important than ever. I will be running for the Annual Fund which supports a wide range of programs such as research projects, career development, expansion of clinical spaces and academic and teaching efforts. Last year I was so overwhelmed by the generous support everyone gave to me. Team BIDMC is an official charity of the Boston Athletic Association and all donations go to BIDMC. It was truly a life changing experience and I hope that you will once again support my fundraising efforts and follow me on my journey where I hope to once again cross the finish line in April!
