Dear Friends and family,
I am beyond excited to announce that I will be running the 2017 Boston Marathon! As an affiliate to Beth Israel, Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) has been allotted a single bib to represent and raise funds for CHA specifically, and I have been selected! This is the first time Cambridge Health Alliance has participated in the Boston Marathon. I am greatly honored for the opportunity to train and fundraise for the community where I live and work.
I ran my first Marathon in 2013, and quickly became addicted. Growing up, simply running was never appealing to me. Instead I was a year round soccer player. However, on April 15th 2013, things changed. I remember sitting in a Seattle hospital doctor's lounge on a rotation away from home and watching the dreadful events of the bombings unfold live before my eyes. I swore to myself then and there I was going to run Boston. And I never back down from a challenge. Six months later, I found myself at the starting line of my first marathon, the Marine Corps Marathon. And I've never stopped running. Running has become my coping stragety during tough times, my meditation time, my happy place.
I now have 4 marathons under my belt, one of which was a last minute opporunity to run Boston in 2014. Friends and family chipped in providing last minute donations for my charity, and even though I was under-trained, the final stretch of "right on Hereford, left on Boylston" was easily one of the top moments in my life. The hype and emotion surrounding this race is unlike anything I've ever experienced. I can't wait for the next few months to unfold as I fundraise and train.
Cambridge Health Alliance is a community hospital of the greater Boston Area. As mentioned, CHA is closely affilitated with Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center. For those of you unfamiliar with Boston, Beth Israel plays a pivitol role in Boston's medical community. It is a large teaching network and has been consistently ranked as one of the Best Hospitals in the United States. We are very proud to be a part of this system.
Cambridge Health Alliance is a high-quality and innovative community health system that provides essential services to Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston’s metro-north communities. It includes three hospital campuses, a network of primary care and specialty practices, and the Cambridge Public Health Dept. CHA is a Harvard Medical School teaching affiliate and is also affiliated with Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and Tufts University School of Medicine. Many employees like myself live within the community and also rotate bewteen all 3 sites.
Below is just a sample of all the great work CHA does for our community:

CHA has quickly become my family in Boston, and I am so happy to give back to this wonderful systyem and community. Please help me by donating to my campaign! Thank you in advance and happy 2017!
