JRM Foundation wrote -JRM Foundation for Humanity is excited to participate with Pastor Jacqueline Thomas and Dr. Naeem Rahim to bring this Christmas Miracle story to completion. Jacqualine “Big Momma” Thomas, first female African American pastor in Eastern Idaho is a pastor of Praise Temple of God in Pocatello. Big Momma is using her personal story of homelessness as inspiration to bring a new ray of hope in our community for the people who are struggling and facing one of life's most challenging situation, "Being Homeless". Big Momma has faced this hardship twice in her lifetime. Her goal is to provide more than just a bed. She hopes to provide what she believes is divine inspiration from God. “I know what it’s like to be hungry, sleeping in the car. … I’ve been homeless and hopeless” Thomas said. “Everyone deserves to have a home. The homeless deserve the very best, and that’s what Big Momma’s is because God said, ‘We should love one another as I have loved you." Dr Naeem Rahim who is an immigrant Muslim American doctor decided to join hands with Big Momma and donated $23,000 to help with the down payment of this project. "I come from a very humble beginnings." He said. "This county gave me all the blessings in the world and a new home." I owe it to my existence and to God to help others regardless of the religion, nationality or color." They both connected Christmas Eve with a phone call. Big Momma had raised $7000 for the down payment of the property, with few weeks remaining for the deadline to pay the full amount of $30,000 she kneeled down in prayer on that Christmas Eve before going to bed and suddenly her phone rang. On the other side was Dr Naeem Rahim who was calling her from Miami after reading this story in a local Idaho newspaper. He pledged her $23,000 so she can make the down payment on this property. This was the Christmas Miracle that started this project.
