BENEFITING: CHILDRENS MERCY HOSPITAL FOUNDATION
*Note: Please note that the bowling/specator prizes for the Big Slick High School campaign were awarded on June 1st. While we love and appreciate any continued support and donations through our generous group of high school fundraisers, the time period for winning prizes associated with fundraising efforts has closed. Thank you!
The Big Slick Celebrity Weekend is returning for its 7th consecutive year!
This year we’re getting high schoolers involved in our fundraising efforts as part of our Red, White & Bowl Celebrity Bowling Tournament!
Are you a high school student, age 14 through 18? Are you interested in helping other children in need by raising funds through our CrowdRise campaign?
Just think, you could boast for years that you spent a couple of hours sitting on a couch and chatting (and bowling) with the likes of Paul Rudd, Rob Riggle, Eric Stonestreet, Dave Koechner, or Jason Sudeikis. Maybe Selena Gomez or Johnny Knoxville - who knows who will show up to play with you?
In addition to earning a chance at great weekly prizes, our top high school FUNDRAISER earns a spot on a bowling team at this year’s Big Slick Celebrity Bowl. Our second and third place FUNDRAISERS win a chance to be a part of the celebrity bowling tournament as spectators.
Here’s what you have to do to fundraise and play:
- Visit crowdrise.com/bigslickcommunity and click “Start a Fundraiser”.
- When prompted, log into CrowdRise (using your account, using your Facebook account, or by creating a new account) and fill out the requisite information.
- That’s it – you now have your very own fundraising team and it’s time to fundraise for Big Slick and Children’s Mercy Cancer Center!
Get Out the Word!
Once your team is created you’ll be given a URL that you can send to friends, family, teachers and classmates that they can use to donate to your fundraising team!
The more donations you gather the more awesome prizes you can win and will help you secure your place at the Big Slick Celebrity Bowling event. You can track your donation totals anytime you want. The contest will run for four weeks, and each week you can win autographed and one-of-a-kind prizes from our five hosts. The fundraiser that raises the most money will bowl at Big Slick with our celebrities, and the second and third place fundraisers will get to participate as spectators!
The best part? That money you raise will help kids with cancer at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, maybe even a friend or relative. So with each dollar donated, you aren’t just inching closer to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, you are being a good citizen and doing your part in the community.
*Note: This fundraising contest is only open to students ages 14-18. The top fundraiser and second and third place fundraisers who will bowl or spectate at the Red, White & Bowl Celebrity Bowling Tournament must meet this criteria.
Here’s more about Big Slick:
Actors Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, David Koechner, and Eric Stonestreet will host the seventh annual Big Slick Celebrity Weekend, benefitting the Cancer Center at Children’s Mercy. The event takes place the weekend of June 17-180 in Kansas City, but your family and friends from across the country can help and share in the experience by joining your Big Slick CrowdRise campaign.
Big Slick started in 2010 as a celebrity poker tournament and party hosted by Riggle, Rudd, and Sudeikis. Over the past five years, celebrity friends such as Will Ferrell, Jon Hamm, Olivia Wilde, Selena Gomez, Johnny Knoxville, and James Van Der Beek, as well as Koechner and Stonestreet (who are now co-hosts), have attended.
Now, approaching its seventh year, Big Slick has donated more than $3 million to Children’s Mercy Hospital, helping the non-profit hospital expand its Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and family/play rooms, add entertainment systems to every oncology hospital room, and purchase more than $500,000 worth of advanced early-detection equipment.
Big Slick will take place at locations throughout Kansas City on Friday, June 17, and Saturday, June 19, and feature three core events. Celebrity attendees will participate in the Big Slick Celebrity Softball game played at Kauffman Stadium, the Big Slick Celebrity Bowl bowling tournament at Pinstripes in Overland Park, and the Big Slick Celebrity Party and Auction at the Arvest Bank Theatre at The Midland in downtown KC.
