In March of 2011, I had the privilege and pleasure of helping out in the first "Big Class" classroom. During my short visit, I marveled at the work the kids were able to produce after they were encouraged to harness the creative energy inside them all - how their stories proved so distinctly vital, hilarious and insightful! I've been a big fan of the program since, and being given the chance to collaborate with the kids remotely since (on projects like "The Animals"), I've been lucky enough to tap into that same energy again. One of my favorite things about Big Class is the galvanzing effect that it has not only on the kids, but on those that donate their time and resources to the project. In that same vein, my goal is to throw a few fun events in the Los Angeles area during the seed challenge period that will prove as mutually beneficial and enriching to both the attendees in LA and to the kids and volunteers in NOLA. Come have a great time while supporting a good cause!
