BENEFITING: CHEATHAM STREET MUSIC FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Jun 24, 2011
Here's what's happening folks...Texas country music needs your help. The Cheatham Street Staff work very hard to make the music happen for us, and now it's time to show our appreciation, and especially, our support for the music we love and live by. Bigfest is a fundraising music festival for the Cheatham Street Music Foundation, and a celebration of legendary guitarist Big John Mills' birthday. This year, the 3-day festival is set for June 24-26, 2011, and will be held in the historic Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos, Texas, where musicians such as George Strait, Todd Snider, and Randy Rogers got their start. The CSMF is a non-profit corporation, so all proceeds go directly to the foundation, helping to preserve Texas music and all that it stands for. So c'mon yall, let's give what we can, because I know we can make a difference that will make THE difference. Kent Finlay opened Cheatham Street Warehouse back in '74 to help musicians be heard when they weren't offered a chance to play anywhere else. His compassion for local music has paid off for so many artists, and it's time we give back. He continues to this day, offering live music every single day of the week for whoever wants to listen, so let's come together to................Save the Music !!!!
Oh, and if you actually wanna have something to show for your contribution, become a sponsor. You can check out our site at: http://bigfest.cheathamstreetfoundation.org/
