Big miracle small package
Organized by: Summer Arthur
We knew a little over half way through the pregnancy that we had a special baby. At first they said they needed to do an amino test to find out what was wrong with him. They told us we may have to abort due to the results. Thank the Lord they came back with no chromosomal issues. We still did not have an answer as to why our son was different. His hands did not fully form and his heart had many complications. I was transferred care over to my new doctor for special little babies. On my first visit I was admitted into the hospital because come to find out I had high blood pressure and no amniotic fluid for the baby. After checking me out there was still not an answer as to why there was no fluid being produced. I was told that they thought he had a syndrome called Cornelia Delang. They also thought his chances were slim to none due to his size being so small and no amniotic fluid for him to move and continue to grow and no fluid for him to fill his lungs. I was again offered the chance to abort him. We turned it down and went home. I checked in regularly for my visits and on the last one at 35 weeks blood pressure was very very high and he immediately had me admitted to be checked for preeclampsia. My results came back negative. My blood pressure continued and 5 days they said he still had no fluid and had grown to the size of a baby that is 27 weeks. The next day I had a headache that would not go away and I finally told the doctor that it wouldn't stop and he said we needed an emergency c section. The whole time we were so scared that we would not be seeing our son breathing after the surgery. They took him out and I looked over to see them doing CPR on our little boy and immediately started crying and praying that God would let us keep our little miracle baby. A few moments late he was breathing and was brought over for me to kiss and see before they took him to continue caring for him. Being a high risk pregnancy I had doctors appointments at least once a week and my job let me go. I stayed at home and continued to try to care for myself and our son. We did not have money set back for all of the hospital bills and we still can't take home our little honey. He weighs in at 2 lbs and 10oz and is not yet able to take in milk and is still being checked daily to see where we are with his condition. -Omreys mommy and daddy Whenever I found out about one of my oldest and dearest friends becoming pregnant I was beside myself with excitement!
