BENEFITING: SCRIPPS HEALTH

Brian Gonsalves

THE STORY:

This fundraiser is give back to Scripps Trauma services for their care. I was involved in a terrible bicycle accident where I ended up losing my spleen, lacerating my kidney, and having the tail of my pancreas resected pancreas; I was discharged from the hospital with three drains. I was then readmitted to the hospital with pancreatitis. It was a rough year with diet restrictions and now a lifetime of compromised immune system. Dr. Nasrallah and N.P. Schultz of the Scripps trauma department manged my care after surgery by Dr. Diane Wintz at Sharp Memorial Hospital. This fundraiser is an expression of gratitude for exceptional care by Scripps Trauma Services.

My ride starts 5/5/2018 at the Belmont roller coaster in San Diego, CA  and ends in Savannah, GA.  You can follow me on Facebook https://www.crowdrise.com/bike-accross-america-by-brian-gonsalves/fundraiser/briangonsalves2?utm_campaign=ocdonate&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=crowdrise , Strava https://www.strava.com/activities/1444715826?fb_action_ids=10210735620018468&fb_action_types=fitness.bikes, and Google Blogger  https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=2714712748719132730#allposts .

So glad Scripps was there for Brian and all the other patients we support. Thank you Brian for all you do as a front line Rad Tech and for taking your time to call attention to Trauma Services in San Diego and how we serve our community. 6 months ago
