Bike to the Library
Organized by: Terry Ross
Bike to the Library encourages, supports and informs safe biking to libraries and other destinations for health, the earth and for fun! This year, we have 75 libraries throughout the state of Wisconsin participating in Bike to the Library. We are distributing 60 free helmets and making 44 safety presentation throughout the week. In addition, libraries in communities that have an established Bicycle Benefits program will be giving out free Bicycle Benefits stickers. All patrons who bike to participating libraries during Bike to the Library week are eligible to be entered into a prize drawing. We are already starting to plan Bike to the Library 2017. We expect that participation will double, and hope have at least twice as many helmets to distribute. We also hope to gift bicycle locks and tire pumps to participating libraries for check-out to their patrons throughout the year. Please help us promote and support safe, bikable, healthy communities in Wisconsin and throughout the U.S. Bike to the Library partners include: the Wisconsin Bike Fed, the UW-Madison Global Health Institute, and Bicycle Benefits.
