Pedal on, hike on, stutter on... Bike/Hike 670!
Stuttering is the involuntary disruption or blocking of speech. I invite you to join me in supporting a cause that empowers children who stutter to not let their speech disrupt, stop or block them from speaking but to give them the confidence to move forward and stutter on.
Bike/Hike 670 was created by my brother, Corey, as a personal journey inspired by his involvement in Our Time Theatre, a non-profit organization based in New York that empowers kids who stutter by using theater and performance as a way to build their speaking and personal confidence. Our Time Theatre also provides a summer camp opportunity called Camp Our Time in North Carolina and this year, with the support of Corey and others, an 8 week summer camp program will also be heading to our hometown of CHICAGO!
In an effort to raise funds for Our Time Theater's two camps, Corey will head out on a 670 mile long bike ride and hiking route from Chicago, Illinois to Hendersonville, North Carolina, symbolically linking the two camps and creating stuttering awareness. I am excited to take part in the bike/hike journey as part of Corey's SAG team! My husband Jason will be accompanying Corey on his hike through the Smokey Mountains.
It is mine and Jason's way to give back. It is our way to help children who stutter to move forward and stutter on. Please join Jason and I, in our support for Corey and this very worthy organization by making a donation. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Camp Our Time programs in Chicago and North Carolina.
