Once again, The Out of Options Motorcycle Club will be riding for charity!
This year, we are expanding our charitable efforts to also support research and treatment for babies born with Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs). Molly McGregor, Communications and Marketing Officer at ISE and OIC Roundtable member, learned of the challenges of CHD firsthand when her son Nathan was born with two CHDs in 2012 and required open heart surgery at Columbia University Medical Center in NYC when he was two days old.
The Babies Heart Fund supports the Pediatric Cardiology Team at Columbia University Medical Center, who are doing cutting-edge research into the causes of Congenital Heart Defects to improve success of surgical intervention and to work toward a cure. Did you know that Congenital Heart Defects are:
- The #1 birth defect in the US (and globally)
- The leading cause of infant death in the US
- Each year over 1,000,000 babies are born worldwide with a congenital heart defect. 100,000 of them will not live to see their first birthday and thousands more die before they reach adulthood.
We will be riding from NYC and Chicago to this year’s Options Industry Conference in Miami Florida. This year the NY crowd (Bill Ryan, Barry Nobel and Joe Valenza) will head north to Maine, turn around and head to Miami (Maine to Miami). Paul Jiganti will head out of Chicago and meet us in Virginia Beach. From there it is a straight shot to the Conference. We are asking you to please support us and the children of St Jude’s or Babies Heart Fund at the Columbia University Medical Center by donating to these worthy causes. Thank you for your support and pray for good weather and safe riding conditions.
