BENEFITING: Alzheimer's Disease International
EVENT DATE: May 15, 2013
We, Salina Viau and Jaime Roy, are planning to leave by mid-May to start our bike trek across Canada! (The specific date is not yet decided). Salina's aunt passed September 2011 and had alzheimers and Jaime's Meme and Pepe struggle with it every day. We currently live in Windsor, Ontario, and we will be greyhound busing to Sidney, Nova Scotia, to where we will be starting our bike ride. We plan that it will take us about three and a half to four months to finish our whole bike ride, which will be approximately 8000 kilometers. We will bike to the other side of the country up through Edmonton, through Jasper National Park, down to Syndey on Vancouver island, then back through Banff National Park where Calgary is our ending destination. We will be posting an online journal whenever it is readily available along our way. It's hard to find contact through the internet when you're on the road, but we will try and keep contact whenever possible! We are pretty much funding our trip by ourselves and plan to give most of what is donated to us to Alzheimer's research and whatever is left for us to put towards our trip will be GREATLY appreciated as this is not the cheapest thing in the world to do and whatever extra funds we have will help us raise even more awareness with advertising and so on. We're hoping we can raise awareness of this disease and hope to give them whatever funds we can to help the cause. We thank you so much in advance for any kind of contributes anyone can make, even if its the smallest one! Spread the word and the love!
