A LETTER FROM BIONPHARMA
Many of you know that Bionpharma was founded a little over a year ago by us – a group of 5 very serious businessmen. What can we 5 possibly have to do with bubbles you ask? Well, the truth is, while we might look tough on the outside,we are all actually quite bubbly on the inside. After all, we are all also parents and our kids have us wrapped around their little fingers!
Further (and this most of you did not know), two of us have little ones that are still with us today because of the incredible folks at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. And as a team, not only have we supported each other in making Bionpharma a success, but we have also found immense strength in each other in the face of some of the most challenging moments of our lives.
Bion means "life" and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has given life to little members of our ever growing family.
We ask that you join us in our continuing journey by sponsoring us in our walk to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
THE CAUSE THAT YOU WILL SUPPORT
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the oldest hospital in the United States dedicated exclusively to pediatrics, strives to be the world's leader in the advancement of healthcare for children. Their physician-researchers are committed to finding cures for chronic and fatal pediatric illnesses. Therapies for children are often customized based on genetic makeup by drawing on the latest available information on the human genome and collaborating with other leader in the field. Oncologists are working on therapeutic vaccines for children that teach patients' healthy cells to recognize and fight cancer. Other researchers are investigating prenatal stem-cell transplants to improve treatments for a variety of diseases including muscular dystrophy, leukemia and sickle cell disease. CHOP's strives in the timely recognition and treatment of rare diseases-such as aHUs, port-wine diseae, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome amongst thousands of others.
