BENEFITING: BIOSPHERE EXPEDITIONS
EVENT DATE: Sep 30, 2013
This Campaign is now closed... Thank you all for your donations!
Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues,
You all know my great love and admiration for animal world… cats in particular… This year I have decided to sacrifice my holidays and volunteered to go on a scientific conservation study working with big cats (leopards & cheetahs) and elephants in Namibia for 2 weeks in October 2013. It will give me the opportunity to get involved in a hands-on practical conservation experience that directly benefits wildlife and the humans that live alongside them. A great active contribution towards sustainable biosphere.
The project is run by Biosphere Expeditions (international no-profit/charity organisation registered in UK, USA, Australia, Germany & France) and is all about safeguarding some of Africa’s most iconic animals. The Organisation itself is accredited member of the International Union for Conservation (UNEP) and regularly wins numerous conservation awards and accolades for their work around the world each year (e.g. National Geographic).
Each volunteer of the expedition is expected to raise contribution of £1750 ($2600) and make own travel arrangements. I have already donated £300 and I am hoping, with your help, to raise remaining £1450 through this fundraising site by mid-September. This contribution will fund the scientific research with the aim of minimising human/wildlife conflict and will keep the project alive - it will cover everything from equipment, lodging, food and training.
The donations are tax deductible and all charity registration numbers can be found here: http://www.biosphere-expeditions.org/biosphere-expeditions-conservation-projects-non-profit-status-of-our-offices-around-the.html.
Details of the project can be found here: http://www.biosphere-expeditions.org/namibia.
Thank you very much for your donations and help!
