BENEFITING: The Boot Campaign
EVENT DATE: Mar 01, 2015
I've been incredibly fortunate in my life to receive not only love from the people I care about, but gifts and help I'm sometimes truly not deserving of, but very thankful for. This year, for my 26th birthday, I would very much like to give instead of receive. I'm setting up this page to give back to the people that help make this country what it is.
Boot Campaign is a national non-profit established in 2009 dedicated to bringing awareness to military personnel, both active-duty and veterans, and the families affected by loss and returning struggles. They encourage people to show their patriotism and gratitude to those who serve by "Booting Up". The physical act of wearing combat boots with plain clothes provides an opportunity for people to start a conversation about bridging the gap between returning soldiers and the people and country they protect.
Proceeds from all Boot Campaign projects (sales, events, direct donations and corporate sponsorships) goes directly to five Assistance initiatives: Jobs, Housing, Wellness, Urgent Assistance, and Family Support.
Together we can be a part of something bigger than ourselves. Any amount is appreciated and will go towards the women and men that give so selflessly for the freedoms we so enjoy. Whether you are able to donate at this time or not, please share so we can reach as many people as possible!
Here is a quick video to better explain the benefits of this wonderful cause as well as a link to their website. Take a look around and see what they're all about!
