BENEFITING: BORGEN PROJECT
EVENT DATE: Jun 06, 2015
My birthday is approaching and I am asking family and friends to give $5-10 to the organization I am interning for as a present!
What is it? I am a political affairs intern lobbying for Borgen Project's cause and the legislation it supports. The Borgen Project is a non-profit, non partisan organization that advocates for the world’s poor and is working to make poverty a focus of U.S. foreign policy. With over 200 volunteers throughout the United States, we operate through four major strategies: building awareness of global issues, educating citizens on basic advocacy, mobilizing people across the U.S. to share their voice in Congress, and advocating to make poverty a political priority. Part of my internship is to raise a minimum of $500 and I thought I would starts here! Please contact me with any questions as well as visit the Borgen Project website at http://borgenproject.org/
Why?: Volunteers like myself work with our Congressional leaders to help generate change and secure support for crucial poverty-reducing legislation. I chose to be involved with The Borgen Project because I see a future career in both politics and non-profit work. I believe in this cause and want to further my experience in helping others and learning about our government and foreign affairs. Thank you for your support.
